I've been wanting to build a brew stand for a while now, and finally did it yesterday! With the help of one friend letting me use his shop and another doing the welding, I had this done for $75 and it only took 3 hours.

I have locking casters that I'll be putting on it after I paint it, but couldn't resist and want to fire it up for a batch of imperial stout today! I'll be switching out the temporary propane burners for natural gas as soon as I can get the plumbing for that done.

Thanks for the compliments. Once I figured out how the pump works it was the best brew I've ever done (priming the pump just took me a few to figure out as it didn't have instructions)! I brewed an imperial russian stout, og was dead on at 1.091. It was a 3 step mash, started with a protein rest, total of 90 minutes in the mash tun, unfired and un-insulated so lost some temp though. I need a third propane burner though until I get my natural gas plumbed.

But it was the sweetest wort I've ever tasted, and the system worked out really well. I'm excited about it and can't wait to get the ng hooked up. I can't believe how easy the process was and how easy the stand was to build either. I pitched the stout onto a very low gravity breakfast stout yeast cake I brewed last weekend, and this morning it is the most amazing fermentation i've ever seen. Blowoff is going everywhere, building foam outside of the pitcher to the point that I had to switch to a bucket. My power is out until after 2pm so I hope that the temp stays god in the workshop, but I wrapped it in a towel and hopefully with the crazy strong fermentation it will stay warm enough.

Tomorrow I'm brewing a 20lb pale ale (12% ABV) and pitching it on a yeast cake from a strong pale ale I brewed earlier this week (the one that I posted about not fermenting, but it's going mad now).
