My wife and I just started brewing. We are both going to come out and join abnormal in the next meeting.

In the mean time though, we have a big party planned and would like to brew a ton of beer. I dont mind paying for the ingredients but something "trubs" me the wrong way about paying for empty bottles... (In my head it goes like this..."Empty bottles?!?!? There should be something in there!!?)

Anyway, if anyone has spare bottles, please let me know. Currently Ihave scrounged up about 60 or so but would like to make 150+ bottles by March 22.

Of course you will get an invite to the party also if you donate some bottles to the cause. I will return them if necessary.

I will have a batch ready for bottling tonight and I have enough bottles for that batch. I am short quite a few for the batch that will be ready Friday though.

I thought I would let you know, all 3 of my beers turned out. Im not overly impressed with any of them, but people seemed to like them. I think "free" helped people appreciate it more.

I brewed 3 box beers from Fryar Tucks:

The Weisenbeer was the first beer. It has somewhat of a tin taste in it. Its drinkable and I will drink it but its not great... I would give it a 2 out of 10. Just slightly better than bud. My friend who is much more experienced said there is no off flavor and though it just needs to age a bit. It has improved over a couple weeks, but its still not very good.

The Oktoberfest was the second beer. It was the most popular. This was the only brew that came with a specialty grain and I think I steeped it too hot. It has the taste like if you steep tea too hot. Despite that, its still drinkable. I give this a 3.5 out of 10. Much better than bud but I wouldnt try to recreate it.

The American Cream Ale was the third and final beer. This one was my favorite and turned out pretty well. I just dont like it that much. I cant say there is anything "wrong" with it, it just seems like its missing something. I would give it a 4 out of 10. Again, I wouldnt try to recreate this one.

Thanks to Czar and Bevoduz for the bottles. I hope to give them a good home and keep them full of beer when possible. I would offer you both samples, but honestly, they arent good. I would rather hold off a bit, get a little more skill, and give you something that turns out better. If you think you want to try them anyway, let me know, I can bring some by.

Again, thank you both, I really appreciate your generosity.
