Just curious who out there makes their own beer labels and what process you use, along with what labels you use. Below is a label I made yesterday in photoshop for the Winter Warmer I just bottled.
The Beaver and his chewed log is a chainsaw carving I have. I took a pic of the beaver in front of a gray sheet and then using the magic wand in Photoshop I copied just the beaver and his log. The rest of the label was an image i found online, in which i removed the existing graphics and lettering that were on it, covering them up basically with the clone stamp. I set it up like a template so I can change any of the lettering to whatever I want.
My big concern is I didn't pay attention to the size of the image and it's a tad on the small size. Works ok but I have to keep them small. I'll probably redo it soon and add to it the chainsaw carved name log I have that goes with the beaver to see what I can come up with.
I use some label paper made for beer bottles. I got it from northern brewer and it's just a moisture activated adhesive on one side. It works ok but I'd like to find a good peel and stick alternative that comes off easily. The labels I have say they come off easy but I haven't tried to be honest. I'm sure they do but applying them is a bit of a pain and they usually end up with a couple of water spots from the ink getting damp.
So if you know of a good label paper I'd love to know about it!
